A leading global manufacturer of Matrix Matched Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) is looking for an experienced Technical Sales Specialist to join its Sales team based in Modderfontein.

The company supplies high-quality Certified Reference Materials to mining companies, mineral laboratories, and exploration organisations worldwide, helping customers improve the accuracy and precision of analytical testing across the mining value chain.

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially minded professional with a Science qualification in Geology or Chemistry, strong technical sales experience, and a passion for building lasting client relationships within the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

• Drive sales growth while ensuring compliance with company SOPs

• Provide technical (geological) sales support to customers

• Develop new business opportunities across the mining and exploration sectors

• Build, maintain and grow strategic customer relationships

• Follow up on enquiries and sales leads

• Prepare quotations, proposals and sales documentation

• Meet and exceed monthly sales targets

• Prepare sales forecasts and pipeline reports

• Coordinate product packaging and shipment

• Conduct customer site visits throughout Africa

• Promote the company's products and professional brand

Market Research

• Monitor commodity and mining industry trends

• Identify emerging market opportunities

• Analyse customer requirements and competitive activity

• Provide market intelligence to support business growth

Administration

• Generate accurate quotations

• Process customer orders

• Maintain accurate customer records

• Produce reports on customer activity, market trends and geographic opportunities

• Maintain sales documentation and CRM records

Relationship Management

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with:

• Mining companies

• Mineral laboratories

• Internal business teams

• Senior management

• Suppliers and logistics partners

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BSc)

• Major in Geology and/or Chemistry

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in Technical Sales

• Mining, exploration, laboratory or geological services experience preferred

• Experience servicing customers within the mining industry

• Proven track record of achieving sales targets

• Experience managing customer accounts and developing new business

• Willingness to travel throughout Africa
