A leading mining house is seeking an experienced Mining Site Foreman / Site Supervisor to oversee site installation and commissioning activities for a 336 KLPD Wastewater Treatment Plant at one of its platinum operations in Rustenburg.

This is a mine-site supervisory role, not a general construction foreman position. The successful candidate must have genuine experience supervising work on South African mine sites and a strong understanding of MHSA requirements, mine safety systems and legal appointments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day site installation, construction and commissioning activities associated with the wastewater treatment plant.
• Coordinate and supervise electrical, MCC/PLC, instrumentation, cabling and mechanical/site installation works.
• Manage contractors, artisans, subcontractors and installation teams on site.
• Ensure all activities are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved specifications, programmes and mine standards.
• Conduct and manage daily toolbox talks, pre-task risk assessments, inspections and safety briefings.
• Ensure compliance with MHSA, mine safety systems, permits, risk assessments, safe work procedures and site requirements.
• Manage and monitor applicable legal appointments and ensure responsibilities are properly discharged.
• Coordinate permits, access requirements and site documentation.
• Monitor work quality, progress, productivity and adherence to project schedules.
• Liaise with the mine, project management team, contractors, engineering teams and other stakeholders.
• Identify and address site issues, technical constraints, safety risks and delays.
• Support plant installation, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection records, safety documentation and project records.
• Promote a strong safety, quality and compliance culture throughout the project.

Essential Requirements

• Proven Foreman / Site Supervisor / Mining Site Supervisor experience on South African mine sites.
• Strong practical knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and mine safety systems.
• Must be competent and eligible to accept the applicable legal appointment required by the mine.
• Previous experience holding a legal appointment on a mine is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience supervising contractors, artisans, subcontractors and installation teams.
• Experience managing:
• Toolbox talks
• Risk assessments
• Permits to work
• Safety inspections
• Site inductions
• Safety compliance
• Site documentation
• Electrical, Millwright, Mechanical or similar technical background strongly preferred.
• Experience in process plants, water/wastewater treatment plants, MCCs, electrical installation, instrumentation or commissioning will be highly advantageous.
• Valid Driver's Licence.
• Must be able to work on a mining site in Rustenburg.
• Urgent availability is advantageous.
• The successful candidate must have South African mine-site supervisory experience and understand the operational, safety and statutory responsibilities associated with an MHSA legal appointment.
