A leading international mining company is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Concentrator) to lead the successful delivery of a major Platinum Concentrator Plant currently in the execution phase of a world-class mining project in Zimbabwe.

This is a career-defining opportunity for an accomplished mining projects professional with extensive EPCM, mineral processing and concentrator plant delivery experience. The successful candidate will lead the project from detailed engineering through construction, commissioning and operational handover, ensuring safe, on-time and within-budget execution.

The role is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, with frequent travel and extended periods on site in Zimbabwe during key construction and commissioning phases. The role is an initial 12 month Fixed-Term Contract with a strong possibility of extension.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager: Capital Projects, you will take full accountability for the successful execution of the Concentrator Project while leading multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering one of Africa's significant platinum processing projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead the delivery of the Concentrator Plant from engineering through to operational handover.

• Develop and execute project delivery strategies.

• Ensure delivery within approved scope, budget, schedule and quality targets.

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams across all project phases.

• Drive performance, accountability and project governance.

Engineering & EPCM Management

• Coordinate all engineering disciplines.

• Manage EPCM consultants and engineering interfaces.

• Resolve complex technical issues and project risks.

• Ensure engineering deliverables support construction milestones.

Procurement & Contracts

• Oversee procurement of critical plant and long-lead equipment.

• Manage contractors, suppliers and EPCM partners.

• Monitor contract performance, variations and commercial risk.

• Participate in major vendor and technical evaluations.

Construction Management

• Direct construction execution activities.

• Monitor contractor performance, productivity and quality.

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.

• Resolve construction issues impacting cost or schedule.

Commissioning & Operational Readiness

• Lead commissioning strategy and execution.

• Coordinate integrated commissioning activities.

• Ensure successful mechanical completion and handover.

• Support operational readiness and transition to production.

Project Controls

• Monitor cost, schedule and project performance.

• Manage forecasting, reporting and change control.

• Identify and mitigate project risks.

• Report project progress to executive management.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Champion world-class HSE performance.

• Ensure compliance with statutory, company and project standards.

• Promote quality assurance and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Process or Mining Engineering.

• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent Project Management qualification advantageous.

• ECSA or equivalent professional registration highly advantageous.

• Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years' mining project experience.

• Minimum 5 years in Project Management.

• Proven delivery of large-scale Concentrator or Mineral Processing Plants.

• Extensive EPCM project delivery experience.

• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

• Extensive construction, commissioning and operational readiness experience.

• Experience on projects exceeding US$100 million highly advantageous.

• Platinum Group Metals (PGM) processing experience advantageous.

• African mining project experience advantageous.
